Description

This is a mid-19th century terrace of six houses, numbered 169 to 175 (odd), 175A, and 175B, located on Clapham Manor Street. The terrace is two storeys high with basements sunk below ground level. The buildings are constructed of stock brick with a rendered parapet, though the cornices are now missing. The detailing includes a plinth. Sash windows with glazing bars are set within gauged brick arches; those on the ground floor are round-headed. An arcade runs across both floors, with a cill band on the first floor and impost blocks at ground floor level, incorporated into the doorways. The doors are of four or five panels, with fluted quadrant pilasters, a cornice head, and patterned fanlights. Number 175 has undergone significant alterations to its ground floor. A stone plaque on the first floor reads “MANOR HOUSE.”
