Description
Roger's Almshouses, built in the third quarter of the 19th century, consist of three linked pairs of cottages. Each cottage is two storeys high and features one window in the main bay under a gable, paired with its neighbour, and a chimney positioned between them. Additionally, there is a window in the set-back narrow entrance link, which has one storey and an attic. The cottages are constructed from stock brick, with stucco quoins and window dressings, and have stone gable copings along with high-pitched slated roofs. The entrance sections include tall, narrow dormers. The windows are three-light casements with transoms, and the doors consist of four long panels set in alternating block surrounds. The almshouses are included for their group value.
