Description

These are early to mid-19th century villas located on Stockwell Park Crescent. Numbers 26, 28, and 30 are each three storeys tall with a high basement, and each has three windows. The buildings are constructed of stock brick, with a fairly low-pitched slated roof featuring eaves soffits and pedimented ends. The basement is stuccoed; numbers 26 and 28 incorporate rustication to form window voussoirs. A cill band runs along the first floor. The windows are sash windows, some with glazing bars or margin lights, set within moulded architraves with cornices on the ground and first floors. The tripartite ground floor windows feature pilaster jambs, mullions, and patterned cast iron balconies. A six-step approach leads to the doors, which have pilasters, a cornice head, and rectangular fanlights, all within a pedimented entablature surround. Number 30 has been altered with the addition of later 19th century canted bays, but is included in the listing due to its contribution to the group value of the crescent.
