Description
Denny Crescent comprises a group of 16 red brick cottages, built in 1913 by J D Coleridge for the Duchy of Cornwall Estate. The houses are arranged in a crescent shape and are two storeys high, constructed in a Dutch style. The roofs are dark tiled, with dividing chimney walls and a moulded wood eaves cornice. The ends of the crescent, and those flanking the central section, have returned crow-stepped gables finished with Roman cement coping. A brick band runs across the first floor. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within moulded wood architraves. The half-glazed doors are in plain wood frames, each with a small, oblong fanlight above. Decorative rainwater heads feature the Prince of Wales' feathers and motto. A stone plaque displaying the date is positioned above the central carriage archway.
