Description

This is an early 19th-century terrace of houses designed to appear as semi-detached properties. Numbers 38 to 44, Addison Avenue are similar in style to numbers 37 to 55. The terrace is two storeys high with a basement. The exterior is stuccoed, with pilasters marking the corners of the central part of the terrace. Each section features four windows. The ground floor windows are French casements, and there are cast-iron balconies. The first floor windows are round-headed sashes. The low-pitched slate roof has overhanging eaves. The entrances are recessed on either side. Number 44 does not match the rest of the terrace's design. A cornice is supported by consoles over the ground floor windows. The first floor window architrave surround has a cill on brackets, but lacks both a cill band and an archivolt band.
