Description

This house, number 47, with its garden railings, dates to around 1711 and has been altered since. It is four storeys high, including dormers, and is three-and-a-half windows wide. The exterior is painted brick, featuring flush framed windows. A decorative cornice band runs along the third floor. The wooden doorcase has consoles, a dentil cornice, and panelled reveals, accompanied by wooden louvred shutters to the windows. A bow window has been added to the ground floor. The garden is enclosed by wrought iron railings. Contemporary accounts, such as those found in the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments and the Survey of London Volume II, document the building.
