34 and 34a, Bafford Lane

This is a house, built around 1710, with additions made in 1774 and the mid-19th century. It has a painted brick and stucco exterior, gault brick stacks, and a slate roof. A verandah and porch are also present.

The main, front facade is three storeys high with five windows on the first floor. The ground floor has banded rustication, with bands extending over the ground and first floors. A later verandah obscures the ground floor, featuring stanchions, scrolled brackets, and a glazed roof. The entrance has a partly glazed door. The ground and first floors have six-over-six sash windows in renovated frames with moulded architraves. The second floor has three-over-three sash windows. A decorative scalloped band runs along the eaves. A stack with a cornice is located at the left end of the garden facade.

On the garden side, the house is two storeys high with a two-and-a-half-story basket-arched bay to the right, featuring four windows on the first floor. The ground floor continues the banded rustication, with a first-floor band. Windows on the ground floor include a one-over-one sash with margin-lights, a square bay with a tall similar sash between narrower one-over-one sashes, and a tripartite window consisting of two-over-two sashes between one-over-one sashes. The first floor has three one-over-one sashes and a tripartite window with a renewed two-over-two sash between one-over-one sashes. The attic has a tripartite sash with a three-over-three sash between one-over-one sashes, all set in plain reveals. The bay has a scalloped eaves board. A two-story wing at the rear has a datestone marked "1774" on its gable end. A tented iron porch is attached to this wing.

The interior of the 1774 rear addition includes shutters to most windows and some six-panel doors. A Chinese Chippendale-style open-well staircase with a ramped handrail connects the floors. This staircase is similar to one at Charlton Park, Cirencester Road.
