Description

The tomb of Charles Babbage, who died in 1871, is located in Kensal Green Cemetery. It is a slab tomb made of grey Rubislaw granite with a coped slab resting on a base of York stone. The tomb is signed by the mason, Lander. This site holds significant historical interest as Babbage was a prominent mathematician known for his calculating machine, which was a pioneering precursor to the modern computer.
