Description
The monument to Michael Balfe, who died in 1870, is located in Kensal Green Cemetery. It features a pink Peterhead granite obelisk set on a stepped base above a York stone slab. The monument is inscribed with the words "Balfe the Composer." Michael Balfe was a notable mid-Victorian baritone and composer, best known for his work "Come into the Garden, Maud."
