Description

The Mausoleum of James Dunlop, who died in 1841, is located in Kensal Green Cemetery. It is constructed from Portland stone and features a blocked entrance that once had a bronze door, set beneath a shouldered pedimental lintel. This entrance is flanked by pedestals topped with urns and is covered by a pedimental roof. The mausoleum has a rusticated base and walls made of channelled ashlar, which include inscription panels on the sides. It is considered one of the most impressive examples of early Neo-classical mausolea.
