Description
Debenham House is a substantial building constructed between 1905 and 1907 by architect Halsey Ricardo. It features a combination of brick, glazed brick in green and turquoise, and white faience, topped with a green glazed pantile roof. The house stands three storeys high with a basement and is five bays wide. The three central bays are highlighted by giant order arcades and pilasters made of faience, which support an elaborate cornice. To the left, there is a two-storey bay window. The building also has a pilastered attic and eaves cornice, with sash windows on the ground floor and Serlian windows in the central bays of the first floor. The entrance is located on the left-hand return, accessible via a covered way adorned with intricate tilework. Inside, the house boasts important interiors featuring mosaic and tile decoration. Additionally, there is an adjoining garden house decorated with tiles by William de Morgan.
