Description

These are a row of terraced houses, numbered 24 to 27, situated on the north side of Wilton Square, and dating from 1851 to 1852. They were developed by Edward Rowland and Thomas Evans. The houses are constructed of yellow and brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with stucco detailing. The roof is hidden behind a parapet.

Each house has two storeys above a basement, and features two windows. The basement is stuccoed and has a moulded string course. Steps lead to flat-arched entrances with pilasters, and a pediment supported by consoles; however, the pediment at number 27 has been lost. The entrances have overlights above the doors. All the windows are given segmental arches and moulded stucco architraves. A sill band is present on the first floor, and stucco pilaster strips mark the ends of the row. A cornice and blocking course finish the facade. Chimneys are located on the party walls. The upper storeys have undergone significant rebuilding. Cast-iron railings are attached to the area in front of the houses.
