Description
The Highgate Tabernacle is an early 19th-century building finished in stucco. It features giant pilasters that support a central pediment. The façade includes three long, round-headed windows with moulded architraves and vermiculate key blocks, as well as delicate glazing bars. On either side of the building, there are battered doors with shouldered architraves, each accompanied by a small battered window above, also in a similar architrave style. Cast iron lampholders are positioned over the doors. Although a Presbyterian chapel was established on this site in 1662, the current structure serves as a Baptist place of worship. The Highgate Tabernacle is part of a group that includes Nos 16 to 20 (even), No 20A, and No 22.
