Description

No. 22 Southwood Lane is a two-storey, three-bay villa built in the late 19th century. It is constructed of stock brick with a painted front and features a low-pitched, slate roof with eaves soffit and end chimneys. The first floor has gauged flat brick arches above the central sash window, which has glazing bars, and above the blocked windows on either side. A prostyle Roman Doric porch leads to a door with six flat panels and a patterned fanlight above. At the rear, there are sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor, long four-light casements with cast iron balconies below, and a full-height basement storey. Nos. 16 to 20 (even), No. 20A, the Highgate Tabernacle, and No. 22 form a group.
