Description

Nos 37 to 43 on North Road, built in the early 19th century, consist of two pairs of houses linked in the center by recessed porch wings. Each house is two stories high with a basement, featuring one large window on each floor and an additional window in the porch wing. The buildings are constructed of bright red brick and have cement anthemion capped pilaster strips that rest on a cemented basement, topped with a cement entablature and cornice. The porch wings are also made of cement. Each pair has a slate hipped roof. While they may not be particularly attractive, they possess a distinct character. Notably, Nos 37 and 43 have modern dormers. These houses, along with Nos 27 to 43, form a cohesive group.
