Description

Hampton Lodge is an early 18th century house of three storeys and four windows, originally with a blank bay. The front of the house was rendered with stucco in the early 19th century and features incised lines and a parapet. It has sash windows with glazing bars in exposed box frames. The entrance has a six-panel door with a glazed upper portion, set within a moulded architrave. The doorcase includes flat pilasters, a pulvinated frieze, a dentilled cornice and a pediment resting on carved consoles. The interior contains some panelling and one original fireplace surround, now concealed. The staircase retains carved tread ends, although the balusters have been altered. The house forms a group with numbers 11A, 13, 17 to 21 (odd), and 23.
