Description

No. 31 North Road is a mid-19th century house of large proportions, standing three storeys high with two windows on the front. The building is finished in stucco, featuring a rusticated first floor and a quoined second floor. It has a bracketed cornice and a parapet. The sash windows, which include glazing bars, are round beaded on the second floor and set in double moulded architraves. The first floor windows are framed with moulded architraves and have serpentine broken pediments supported by brackets. The ground floor is arcaded, with openings that have rusticated moulded architraves divided by flat pilasters. The openings contain modern plate glass. Nos. 27 to 43 (odd) form a group with this building.
