Description
Nos 3 and 5 Southern Road, built in the early to mid-19th century, form a pair of two-storey buildings with basements and two windows each. They are constructed of greyish brick and feature a low-pitched hipped slate roof with eaves soffits. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are set beneath gauged brick arches; the first floor windows are flat, while those on the ground floor are round. Each building has six steps leading up to a half-glazed door, which is topped by a rectangular fanlight and framed by an entablature surround. There is a set-back left extension to No 3.
