Description
The Laurels is an early to mid-19th century pair of houses located on the north side of Fortis Green, N2. Each house is two storeys tall with a basement and features three windows, along with slightly set back outer extensions that are also two storeys high and have one window each. The buildings have low pitched, hipped slate roofs with deep eaves soffits. They are constructed of yellow brick and have gauged, flat brick arches above sash windows that include glazing bars set in stucco-lined reveals. The ground floor windows in the main block are round arched and also feature interlaced glazing bars. Each house has a half-glazed, four-panel door with fluted pilasters and a flat entablature. No 83 has a stuccoed basement with a modern entrance, while No 85 has a garage door inserted in its left wing. Nos 83 to 97 (odd) form a group.
