Description
Nos 22 and 24 Upper Mall is a house that has been divided, likely built around 1700 and later modified. The building is constructed of brown brick, with red brick dressings on number 22. Number 22 is three storeys high and three windows wide, featuring red gauged flat arches and brick dressings around the windows and at the quoins. It has curved wrought-iron balconies on the first and second floor windows, and the entrance includes sidelights and an arched patterned fanlight. To the right, there is an altered three-storey extension with red gauged flat arches over recessed windows, situated behind a later building in the forecourt. Number 24 is two storeys tall with dormers and is one window wide, displaying a brick band on the first floor. It has a slate roof behind a reconstructed balustraded parapet and a central dormer, along with a wrought-iron balcony at the first-floor window. There is also a three-storey, one-window extension with an entrance to the left, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century.
