Description
Nos 17 and 19 on Northchurch Road are an early to mid-19th century pair of houses, each featuring two storeys and a basement. They have three windows on the first floor, with the outer windows set back in an entrance bay. The buildings are constructed of stock brick and have a rusticated stucco basement with window voussoirs. They are topped with a low-pitched hipped slate roof that has an eaves soffit. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, feature moulded architraves. The ground floor windows are tripartite and include console bracketed cornices and cast iron guards with an anthemion pattern. Each house has a four-panel door with sidelights and a long rectangular fanlight. No 19 has an altered prostyle porch, while the porch of No 17 has been removed. Nos 17 to 35 (odd) form a group.
