Description

The building at 85 Mortimer Road N1 is a mid-19th century Vicarage, originally associated with St Peter’s Church. It’s a symmetrical building of two storeys, an attic, and a basement, constructed in the Gothic style. The steeply pitched roof is covered in Welsh slate and features end chimneys and a central gable containing a window. The exterior is brick with stone dressings, topped by a parapet. The parapet cornice extends to form a hood mould above the attic window. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, set within stone surrounds and hooded mouldings. A projecting central porch, featuring angle buttresses, a cornice, and a parapet, has a door with a four-centred head set within a deeply chamfered reveal and arched opening.
