Description
The Noel Mander Church Organ Works, dating from the mid-19th century and later, is a picturesque group of buildings located behind St Peter's Church and the Vicarage. The western building is constructed of stock brick and features a slate roof, with a façade that ends in two gables. It is two to three storeys high and designed in a Gothic style. The centre of this building has a gothic arched door, with one and two-light windows and a quatrefoil vent in the gable end. To the east, there are very large stone-dressed windows with mullions and transoms on each floor, some of which have leaded glazing.
The central building connects the western and eastern structures and is also made of stock brick with a steeply pitched slate roof. It is two storeys tall and has five bays, featuring two-light gothic arched windows with mullions and transoms, although the ground floor windows have been altered. The eastern building, made of stock brick with a slate roof, is two storeys high and has three windows with one and two lights.
St Peter's Church, along with its railings and piers, the Vicarage, and the listed buildings of the Noel Mander Church Organ Works, form a cohesive group.
