Description
This is an early to mid-19th century pair of stuccoed houses located on Northchurch Road in London. Each house is two storeys high with a basement, with number 48 having three windows and number 50 having two. The roofs are low-pitched and slate-covered, with visible eaves soffits. The basement and ground floor are treated with banding. The first-floor sash windows are fitted with moulded architraves and have glazing bars. Console brackets support cornices above the long ground-floor casement windows, which have cast iron balconies. The houses have four-panel doors, each topped with a simple fanlight and reached by seven steps. Pediments are positioned above the doors. The main window sections are slightly recessed. These houses are part of a group of local interest, together with numbers 40 to 54 (even) and numbers 56 and 58.
