Description

The monument to Dr Nathaniel Rogers, who lived from 1808 to 1864, is located in Abney Park Cemetery. It is made of white and grey marble and designed as a classical mausoleum featuring engaged Corinthian pilasters and a pediment that includes an armorial achievement. Although the door and window grilles have been replaced, the decorative and stone elements remain original. Inside, there is a coffered ceiling. This mausoleum is the only one in Abney Park Cemetery and forms a significant group with other listed tombs at the Stoke Newington Church Street entrance to the cemetery.
