Description

This is a late 18th-century terrace comprising Nos. 9 to 17 Sanford Terrace and Nos. 26 to 36 (even) Smalley Close. The terrace is three storeys high with a recessed basement, and originally featured three windows per property. It is constructed of stock brick with a stone-coped parapet and red brick dressings. The sash windows originally had bars and are set within stucco-lined reveals, with gauged flat brick arches above. The entrances consist of six-panel doors set within a round-arched recess framed by fluted pilasters, topped with a cornice and featuring a patterned fanlight. The property is currently roofless and undergoing renovation. Nos. 9 to 21 Sanford Terrace and Nos. 26 to 40 (even) Smalley Close form a group.
