Description

This early 19th century terrace comprises eight properties, numbered 1 to 8, on Fort Crescent. Originally built of brown brick, numbers 1, 7, and 8 have subsequently been pebbledashed, while numbers 2 and 3 have been colourwashed. The buildings are four storeys high with a basement, topped by stone coping. Each property features two sash windows per floor, with most of the original glazing bars now missing, and some of the sashes have been altered. First-floor balconies or balconettes, crafted from cast iron and exhibiting varying designs, are present on several properties. The ground floors incorporate three-light canted bays. The doorcases are round-headed or cambered, decorated with keystones. Properties 1, 2, and 3 have rusticated bases, stepped entrances, and area railings. Properties 1 to 8, together with numbers 12 to 36, form a group of buildings of group value.
