Description
This is a gateway with an adjoining wall and railing that leads to the yard of the Church of St Olave, dated 1658. The wall and railing may be from the 18th century. The gateway is made of Portland stone and features a round arch topped by a segmental pediment, which has carvings of skulls in the tympanum and on either side. There are also carvings in the spandrels, while the rear is plain. The iron gates are possibly from the early 19th century. The wall is rendered with a Portland stone coping, and the railings are topped with multiple spikes that extend over the gateway.
