Description
The front block of Fenchurch Street Station, built in 1853, is a two-storey structure designed by G. Berkeley. The facade features gault brick and Portland stone. The ground floor has segmentally arched openings with a clerestory above. The upper storey is distinguished by tall, narrow, round-arched windows and a row of Doric pilasters that support a large segmental pediment, which includes a clock in the tympanum. Above the ground floor openings, there is a gabled timber canopy supported by decorative cast iron brackets. The interior is not of particular interest.
