Description

A pair of terraced houses dating to circa 1823, designed to appear as a single dwelling. The houses are constructed of yellow stock brick. They are two storeys high and each has two windows, with slightly recessed entrance bays and a projecting central bay containing a blind window on each floor. The doorways have gauged brick round arches, stucco keystones, and impost bands, with patterned fanlights and panelled doors. Gauged brick flat arches feature over the recessed sash windows. The entrance bays have stone-coped parapets, while the central bays have a projecting stone cornice and a taller, stone-coped parapet. A first-floor central blind window incorporates a lugged tablet inscribed "Portland Place 1823", with a fire insurance plaque below. The interiors were not inspected. Attached are low brick garden walls with cast-iron railings featuring urn finials, along with gate piers and gates.
