Description
The pair of terraced houses at 44 and 45 Downshire Hill were designed to appear as a single dwelling. They date from the 18th century and are constructed of stucco, rising to three storeys and a basement. Each house has one window to the front, plus a window within a recessed entrance extension, and a central blind window to the first and second floors. The square-headed doorways have patterned overlights and panelled doors, accessed by steps. The windows are recessed sashes; those on the ground floor are within shallow arched recesses, and a cast-iron window guard is present on No. 44. A cornice and blocking course feature at the top of the facades. The interiors have not been inspected.
