Description

Number 7 is a detached studio house built in 1879 by Batterbury & Huxley. It is constructed of red brick with plain bands at the floor levels and features tiled hipped roofs, including a hipped dormer with a Venetian type window. The building has tall fluted brick slab chimney-stacks and a coved eaves cornice. It stands two storeys high with an attic and semi-basement, featuring three windows and a recessed entrance bay with one window. The entrance has a square-headed rubbed brick design with pilasters that support a segmental pediment, and it includes a panelled door with an overlight, accessed by steps. The ground floor and semi-basement windows have gauged brick segmental arches and thin dripmoulds. On the right side, there is a canted bay window that rises through the semi-basement and ground floor, ending with a parapet at the first-floor level. The interior has not been inspected. A notable feature is a moulded brick plaque dated 1879, along with an attached stone-coped brick wall that has piers with pyramidal caps.
