Terraced house. c1815, refronted mid C19. Stucco with plain band at 1st floor level. Steeply gabled roof at rear. 3 storeys 2 windows. Prostyle Tuscan portico with panelled door and overlight. Architraved sashes with lugged sills; ground and 1st floor have console bracketed cornices. Parapet. INTERIOR: not inspected. HISTORICAL NOTE: during the 1860s Alfred Lord Tennyson installed here and often visited his mother (d.1865). From 1932, the home of artist and Slade tutor George Charlton; Stanley Spencer was a frequent visitor.
