Description
This is a terrace of six houses located on Medburn Street, built between 1849 and 1854. The terrace was restored around 1972 as part of a rehabilitation scheme by the London Borough of Camden. The houses are constructed of yellow stock brick with later patching, and have rusticated stucco ground floors. The end houses, numbers 20 and 25, are slightly taller than the others. Each house has three storeys and a cellar, with two windows on the front elevation, except for number 25 which has one return window onto Penryn Street. The doorways have round arches with pilaster jambs that support cornice heads, above fanlights and panelled doors. Number 25 features a prostyle portico on its return to Penryn Street. The windows on the front elevation of numbers 20 and 25 are architraved sashes; the first floor window of number 20 has console bracketed cornices. Windows on the first floor of numbers 21 to 24 have gauged brick flat arches. All first-floor windows have continuous cast-iron balconies. The terrace is finished with parapets. The interiors have not been inspected.
