Description

The Tomb of Mary Basnett, located in St Pancras Old Church Gardens, is a Grade II listed pedestal tomb dating from around 1756. It is made of stone and features a rectangular pedestal with an armorial cartouche on one end. An enriched cornice supports a plinth that is crowned by a scrolled console column, which originally had an urn finial. The plinth is notable for its unusual bas relief depicting a winged woman holding a baby.
