Description

The cattle trough, located opposite the end of Royal College Street, is a double cattle trough and drinking fountain from the late 19th century. It was presented by the Metropolitan Cattle Trough and Drinking Fountain Association. The trough is made of granite and measures approximately 4.5 meters in length and 3 meters in height and breadth. On the south-west side, there are three domical sets to secure it in place. A large and bold inscription identifies it as the work of the Metropolitan Cattle Trough and Drinking Fountain Association.
