Description

This is a terrace of twelve houses, numbers 5 to 16, forming a crescent. They were built around 1849-50 and later restored in the late 20th century. The houses are constructed of yellow stock brick with rusticated stucco used on the ground floors. The design is symmetrical, with two houses in the center projecting slightly. Each house is three stories high and has two windows. The ground floor doorways are round-arched, some with pilaster-jambs supporting cornice-heads and fanlights above panelled doors. The recessed sash windows on the upper floors are topped with gauged brick flat arches, and the first floor includes cast-iron balconies. The buildings are finished with parapets. The interior spaces were not inspected. The crescent was part of a Camden London Borough rehabilitation scheme that won a Civic Trust Award.
