Description

5 Field Court is a pair of chambers built in the early 18th century. The building features a stucco exterior with a rusticated ground floor and a slate mansard roof that includes dormers. It stands two stories tall, with an attic and basement, and has an eight-window range. The south elevation showcases a wooden doorcase supported by Ionic columns, with flush panel reveals, an open pediment, and a round-headed doorway that has a patterned radial fanlight. A cartouche displaying the crest of Gray's Inn is located at the first-floor level. The windows are recessed sash windows, and there is a cornice and blocking course above. The north elevation is similar to the south but lacks an entrance; it features two cast-iron trellis balconies with tented canopies over the pairs of end windows on the first floor. The property also has attached cast-iron railings with urn finials surrounding the areas. The interiors have not been inspected.
