Description
A terrace of four houses on Medburn Street, dating from 1849 to 1852, and restored around 1972 as part of a rehabilitation scheme. The houses are built of yellow stock brick, with later patching, and have rusticated stucco to the ground floors. Number 26 is slightly taller than the others. They are three storeys high, with cellars. Each house has two windows, except for number 26, which has one window facing onto Penryn Street. The doorways have round arches with pilaster-jambs supporting cornice heads, surmounted by fanlights and panelled doors. Number 26 features a projecting portico on its return. The windows are recessed sashes, with gauged brick flat arches, except for those in number 26, which have architraved surrounds. Continuous cast-iron balconies are present on the first-floor windows. The buildings are topped with parapets. The interiors were not inspected.
