Description
Number 20 is a terraced house located on Great James Street, dating from the early to mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries, the latter by Levitt Bernstein Associates. The house is constructed of yellow stock brick and has four storeys plus a basement, featuring two windows. The entrance has a wooden doorcase with pilasters that support an entablature, which includes a fluted frieze and a dentil cornice, along with a fanlight and a panelled door. The ground floor has a segmental-arched tripartite window, while the upper floors are adorned with segmental gauged brick arches. A parapet crowns the building. Attached to the house are cast-iron railings with foliated finials that enclose the areas. The interior has not been inspected.
