Description
The Primary School and Schoolhouse, built in 1874, is a two-storey building with an asymmetrical design. It is constructed of red brick, featuring gault brick and limestone dressings, along with parapet gables that have limestone kneelers. The roofs are covered with plain tiles and include shaped and pierced ridge tiles, as well as a gabled casement dormer with half-timbering. The windows have limestone lintels, with some featuring gault brick relieving arches and wooden casements. The entrance doorways are arched and hood-moulded in gault brick, with an attached limestone shaft that has leaf-carving between them. The doors are boarded and adorned with decorative ironwork. Additionally, there is a pyramid-roofed turret above the school-room entrance.
