Description

Black Horse Cottage is a house dating from the mid-16th century. It features a three-cell lobby-entrance plan and is two storeys high with attics. The structure is timber-framed and rendered, topped with a thatched roof that is hipped at one end and includes an eyebrow casement dormer. There is an axial chimney made of red brick. The cottage has 20th-century small-pane casements and a glazed entrance door. Additionally, there is a one-storey red brick extension from the 20th century. A diamond mullioned window is visible at the first-floor level, along with evidence of other similar windows. The timber-framing is well-preserved and unmoulded.
