Description

Walnut Tree Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-20th century. It has one storey and attics, featuring a three-cell lobby-entrance plan. The structure is timber-framed and rough-cast, topped with a pantiled roof that includes gabled casement dormers and an internal chimney made of red brick. The cottage has two-light 20th-century casements with leaded lights and a boarded entrance door. Inside, the complete timber-framing is fully exposed, with many of the timber members reused from an earlier building, likely from the 16th century. There are back-to-back open fireplaces in the hall and parlour.
