Description

Blacksmiths Cottage is a house dating from the mid-17th century. It has two storeys and a two-cell lobby-entrance plan. The cottage is timber-framed and rendered, topped with a thatched roof, and features an internal chimney stack with a plain red brick shaft. The windows are 20th-century casements with small panes, including both 2-light and 3-light designs. There is also a 20th-century enclosed porch. Inside, the frame is complete and showcases plain timbering, primary braces, bisected studs, and joists set on edge, along with a clasped side-purlin roof.
