Description

Mill House is a house with a late 17th-century build, although it incorporates an earlier core and underwent significant alterations around 1820-1840. It is two storeys and has attics. The house is timber-framed and has a rough-cast finish. The roof is slated and features gable ends with internal chimneys made of red brick. Early 19th-century sash windows are present, with moulded lintels and external louvred shutters on the ground floor.

A fragmentary, single-cell core dating back to the 16th century is located at the rear left. This section was originally built as an extension to the adjacent farmhouse, The Cherries. A further two-cell, two-storey extension was added in the late 17th century.

The house was refenestrated in the early 19th century, and a projecting stable and coach house wing was added. This wing is constructed of red brick, partly plastered, with a slated roof. The wing also contains a conservatory and a half-glazed panelled entrance door.
