Description

This bridge, located 40 metres west of the Primary School on Brookside, is a late medieval structure spanning the River Kennett. It features a single span of 5 metres and is primarily constructed from flint rubble, with quoins made of gault and red brick from various periods. The bridge has a segmental arch made of chamfered limestone, along with a relieving arch composed of narrow pink bricks that alternate with flint rubble. The parapets are made of flint rubble and are weathered, topped with tarred mortar capping. The path across the bridge is approximately 1.20 metres wide and widens at both ends as it approaches the bridge.
