Description
No 6 Church Road is a cottage dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It features a gable front and consists of four cells, with one storey and a loft above the front cell. The structure is timber-framed and rendered, topped with a thatched roof that is hipped at the rear. There are two axial chimneys made of red brick. The cottage has 19th and 20th century leaded casement windows and a boarded entrance door from the 20th century. Originally, the central room was heated by a single open fireplace. This building was formerly the home of the village blacksmith.
