Description
Moulton Hall is a house built in the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It has two storeys and attics, featuring five windows. The exterior is constructed of red brick and includes a moulded brick eaves cornice. The roof is slated and has flat-roofed dormers with small-pane sash windows. The windows are topped with flat arches made of gauged brick and also have small-pane sashes.
The entrance is particularly notable, featuring an entablature with a dentilled pediment supported by attached Corinthian columns. The entrance door has six panels, with the upper panels glazed, and is framed by a moulded architrave and an oblong fanlight with tracery of enmeshed circles.
To the rear left, there is a contemporary wing that has undergone 20th-century alterations, along with an additional block added in the 19th century. Inside, there is an original staircase with balustrading in the Chinese Chippendale style. The house has only been referred to as Moulton Hall since the 20th century, as the previous Moulton Hall was located 100 meters to the southeast.
