Description

The Hepworth War Memorial is a First World War memorial built in 1920, located in the churchyard next to the entrance, to the north of the Church of St Peter, which is listed at Grade II*.

This memorial is made of grey granite and features a plain Latin cross that stands on a rough-hewn, rock-like plinth. The plinth is set on a single-stepped square base made of Portland stone.

On the west face of the plinth, there is a smooth inset panel with leaded lettering that reads, "IN GLORIOUS MEMORY OF THE MEN/ WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR./ (13 NAMES)/ 1914-1918."
