Description
The cart lodge located to the north-west of Wyken Hall dates from the 18th century. It is timber-framed and weatherboarded, topped with clay pantiles, and stands at one and a half storeys tall with four bays. The building features a mansard roof, which is uncommon for cart lodges in this area. There are outside stairs leading to the loft on the north gable wall. The front of the lodge was originally open and has solid arched brackets supporting the posts, but it has since been infilled with weatherboarding. The front also includes two pairs of double doors and a loose-box at the north end.
